I drew this at first using Dave Porter's tutorial on his Patreon site, then developed my own method. His instruction is excellent and helped me refresh my prime color theory and usage tips. The foundation was painted in pastel using the 'Old Master's" techniques of black,red, yellow and blue. The underpainting was done in minimal colors while I added a few of the premixed Caran D'ache pastels for the rich color stage, as well as using the vermillion, ultramarine, and ochre pencils and sticks.
